Thakur Sankatha Prasad Singh Krishi Vigyan Kendra (TSPSKVK) is a district level farm science centre established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and hosts organized A.N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology Kumarganj, Ayodhya– 224229 Uttar Pradesh, Established in 2004, is the grassroot level vocational training centre in Sonbhadra district. The trainings offered here follow the principles of “Learning by doing” and “seeing believes”. It offers skill and knowledge oriented trainings in multidisciplinary areas like Crop production and plant protection, Horticulture, Animal Sciences and Fisheries, Home Science and Agricultural Engineering. The KVK is the light house of knowledge to the farming community of the district. 

 

         The operational area of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra comes under the ICAR, Zone III, ATARI,Kanpur (U.P.). Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), or Agricultural Science Centre, is an Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) initiative established to bridge the gap between agricultural research and farmers. Acting as a district-level resource, KVKs provide vocational training, technology assessment, and on-field demonstrations to enhance productivity, profitability, and sustainability in farming

 

  • Objective: To transfer advanced agricultural technologies to farmers, improving their income and sustainability.

  • Core Activities: 

  • Focus Areas: Crop production, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, and post-harvest management.

  • Structure: Each KVK typically includes a team of Subject Matter Specialists, a Farm Manager, and supporting staff.

  • Impact: KVKs are highly cost-effective, with one rupee invested generating approximately eleven rupees in benefits.
